Connecting with family using your safety code

1. 1Tap [Create My Safety Code] in settingsOpen the Settings tab at the bottom of the guardian screen — it sits right at the top. You go from only watching over your family to sending your own check-in as well.
2. 2Confirm to activateA safety code will be issued — please share it with other guardians.
3. 3Your safety code appearsThe empty slot fills with a 7-character code. One code is issued per device, and the same code comes back even if you delete and reinstall the app.
4. 4Copy or share the code with your familyThe left button copies, the right one shares. Copying shows Code copied. Send it by text or messenger — or just read the 7 characters out over the phone.
5. 5From here on, this is your family's phoneWhoever received the code opens the Connect tab in their own app and taps [Add New Subject] to reach this screen. Three fields to fill in.
6. 6Enter the code you receivedThe unique code can be found in the subject's app. Lower case is converted to upper case. Keep the hyphen (-) in the middle — the code is only recognised with a hyphen between the 3 and the 4 characters.
7. 7Choose a nicknameThis is what this person will be called on your family's screen. Unlike the phone number below, it cannot be left empty.
8. 8Add a phone number (optional)This is how the person's card looks on your family's home screen. The number is optional, and even when it is filled in it never reaches our server — it stays only on the family's phone.

   Once you have called and confirmed that everything is fine, tap [Confirm Safety]. The alert clears, the status returns to normal, and the other guardians watching along receive a confirmation notice.

9. 9Tap [Connect] and you are doneThe button lights up once the code and nickname are filled in. Tapping it connects you, and the card you saw above appears on your family's home screen.

Once connected there is nothing left to do. Anbu sends a check-in by itself, every day at the set time, and tells your family if that time passes with no signal. If the signal is late or the step count looks empty, see the FAQ.
